The mark is: Hichozan 肥碟山 Shinpo 信甫 Zo 造 (made by Hichozan Shinpo), circa 1860-1880.
Hichozan was a trade name used by a group of Arita kilns & makers mainly for export during the late Edo to the Meiji period in the 19th century.

The Hichozan Shinpo brand was made in the short period of time at the end of Edo period (1603-1867) in the Mikawachi kilns and handpainted in Arita, commissioned by the merchant Tashiro Monzaemon (1816-1900). Monzaemon expanded the market for Japanese Imari products at that time when Tokugawa opened ports for export in Japan other than Nagasaki.

Regards,
Martin.

This is Japanese Imari. Probably late 19th Century. I like the stylized waves and the unusual shape.

Thank you both so much for the information about this plate; really appreciate that. The only distracting part to me is the glaze flaws that are very noticeable and I don't know if that was a common thing during 1860-1870's or it is just some what poor workmanship.
