Subject:Identification for 2 statuettes: Lady playing instrument (ivory) & Guardian Lion
Posted By: Brico54 Fri, Jan 26, 2018 IP: 195.144.90.42

Hello,

I was hoping someone could help me identify these statuettes (age/value/...). Neither statuette has any markings on it, although the guardion lion came with a card from an antique shop (which closed now), stating it's from the Majapahit empire, around the 14-15th century. (Whether that's true or not I do not know.)

Any help is appreciated.

P.S.: Higher resolution images can be provided if needed.

Guardan lion a.k.a. Foo dog is a Chinese motive.

The female figurine looks to be European chinoiserie, circa 2nd to early 3rd quarter, 20th century.

Best regards,

Bill H.
