Subject:Bronze vase mark
Posted By: RJ Sun, Feb 18, 2018 IP: 50.127.42.255

Can someone please help with the translation of the mark on this vase?

I assume it is modern and Japanese, but please confirm that as well.

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

The image has to be flipped. The mark 宏 written in seal script can be pronounced as 'Hiroshi'. Taisho to Showa period (20th century).

Guy.

Thank you so much. Is it normal for the mark to be upside down on the vase? I did find a reference to a Murata Hiroshi.
