The first bottle at the top has an inscription that begins with a prominent title of 東?玩硯 (Dong ? Wan Yan -- Dong ? plays with the inkstone -- Dong is a surname with the given name probably what's missing). The inscription continues through two stacks as 丁卯年夏月東風作 (Ding Mao Nian Xia Yue Dong Feng Zuo -- Done by Dong Feng in the summer of the Dingmao Year -- Dingmao being a cyclical date most recently falling in 1987).
The next bottle has a title of 抱琴 (Bao qin -- Carrying the zither -- Following is the same cyclical date, but without a name).
The painting is emblematic of a traditional scholar training his apprentice. Dong Feng, but spelled together, could also comprise the given name of the artist.
Best regards,
Bill H.
