Subject:Signature Identification on Chinese painting
Posted By: M Miller Mon, Mar 05, 2018 IP: 2601:645:500:2c0d:7d I'm wondering if anyone can help me identify who the artist is. Either my great grandfather or my grandfather brought this painting back from China sometime between the late 1800's through 1949. They were both doing missionary work in China during those years. I will post an image of the full painting under this post. Thanks for taking a look! |

Another painting by the same artist, identified as 吴映雲, is here, the painting is a bit more mannered following the "beautiful woman" trope of the time, but the inscription unmistakably by the same neat hand: http://shuhua.cang.com/1750867.html |
