I am seeking info on this carving I have acquired.
I see the crazing on earlier pieces from the 17th and 18th c.
I'd like to hear some thoughts on this piece.
8 inches tall.

I really don't know anything about Ivory as I don't touch it. I would think though that perhaps the piece was made in possibly 1974. The receipt alone rings all the alarms for me, The chasing looks all wrong too. I just worry about it and with an eye watering price you need some answers from better experts. They are here so I hope you get your answer.

Hoping someone with ivory expertise will chime in.
An old newspaper article mentions a 60k rug that was sold by the store for what it's worth. I thought the receipt was possibly forged due to 1975 cutoff for sales, but I've found out some things about the previous owner that suggests that's not the case.
