Subject:Imari Charger - Need Help to ID date
Posted By: Linda123 Thu, Mar 22, 2018 IP: 2001:56a:76b3:1800:4

Can anyone venture to comment on the possible date for this imari charger. My thought is that is probably circa 1900. Need opinion of the more experienced. Thank you

The charger is a Japanese Arita Imari charger.
The mark reads Fuki 富貴 Choshun 長春, meaning something like: "Wealth and Everlasting Spring", also translated as "Good fortune and long life" or "Wealth, Nobility, Longevity and Youth".
See picture.
This mark was found on Arita pieces mainly during the Meiji Period from 1868-1912, so late 19th century / circa 1900 is well possible.
Regards,
Martin.
