Subject:Is this little Jade pendant old?

This pendant is dark green jade. I'm wondering if anyone can tell it's age from the style of carving.
It measures about 35mm by 22mm.

This looks poured , not carved.
Do a scratch test! ! !

It scratches with the tip of a swiss army knife, but it's very hard and certainly not plastic.

white scratch is visible ?or is the scratch black ?

In this case, the stone is definitely not Jade. It is a softer stone,a Serpentine.

OK so it's incredibly hard and unusually colored serpentine. My feeling is old nephrite (which can be soft) but nonetheless, the original question remains. Is it old?

Old Jade is not soft, that is only an explanation of the person who wants to sell it. The stone is definitely old, but the carving is not.

You say the carving is not old. Is there a particular reason you arrived at that conclusion?
