Posted By: Aruna Tue, May 08, 2018 IP: 82.17.43.73

Much appreciate a knowledgeable person to opine on the mark and the vases please.

Is the mark a fake? The vaSes are in good used condition.
Thanks indeed

These vases appear to be transfer-decorated products, which probably were made in China and ornamented in Hong Kong or Macao. The mark reads down and across from the top left as "Made during the Qianlong Reign" (Qianlong Nian Zhi - 乾隆年製). This arrangement is backwards to the traditional writing style, a clue which may date the vases the early third quarter of the 20th century.

Best regards,

Bill H.

The mark says it was made in the Qianlong period (18th Century), but the vases clearly were not made in that period. They were made in Hong Kong o Macau in the 1970s or so.
