Subject:Antique Vase
Posted By: Lisa Mon, May 14, 2018 IP: 2001:569:f888:bd00:9 Hello, I am hoping someone can help identify this vase. Seems to be possibly a clay with brown glaze. Measures approx. 7" high x 2 1/8" across the top and 3 1/4" across the bottom. I believe it to be Japanese but could be mistaken. Any information is helpful. Thank you in advance. |

Posted By: Robert Wed, May 16, 2018 You have a Chinese stoneware bottle with an iron brown glaze. It was made as a utilitarian ware, possibly for use in a kitchen to store liquids. It appears to date to the 20th century. Similar one are often optimistically dated to the Ming dynasty or even earlier. |
