Posted By: Kevin Donnelley Fri, Jun 08, 2018 the dark purplish patina, more evident and almost liver color on the one to the left in the first photo, and highlighted from underneath in the 2nd one, may have been produced by the addition of a small amount of silver to a copper alloy, similar to the hepatizon patina- a copper alloy from the classical period that was made with gold or silver |
