Could someone give me information on this artist

Dear Pat,
石山 is the reading of signature and seal alike
In Japanese reading "Sekizan" could be an art-name, however in Japanese atists name registers
this art-name cannot be found.
Another Japanese reading is "Ishiyama" as surname,
but Japanese painters seldom use surname signatures - especially in cases like this when
the surname can be misinterpreted as art-name There are half a dozen Japanese painters having
this surname.
Possibly your picture is Chinese.
In Chinese 石山 reads "Shisan" which could be
either courtesy name or art-name.
In both cases there are about a dozen artists listed in name dictionaries.
Without seeing the whole picture not even the age can be determined.

With regards,
I.Nagy

Dear Pat,
Thank you for taking the trouble of sending over the photo of picture. Judging from the picture
I would opt for a Chinese painter.

With regards,
I.Nagy
