Dear Pat,
石山 is the reading of signature and seal alike
In Japanese reading "Sekizan" could be an art-name, however in Japanese atists name registers
this art-name cannot be found.
Another Japanese reading is "Ishiyama" as surname,
but Japanese painters seldom use surname signatures - especially in cases like this when
the surname can be misinterpreted as art-name There are half a dozen Japanese painters having
this surname.
Possibly your picture is Chinese.
In Chinese 石山 reads "Shisan" which could be
either courtesy name or art-name.
In both cases there are about a dozen artists listed in name dictionaries.
Without seeing the whole picture not even the age can be determined.
With regards,
I.Nagy
