Subject:Bronze figural statue

Posted By: Bill H Fri, Jun 15, 2018 Just to add some flavor, the New Year greeting 恭喜發財 would be heard up north around Beijing as "Gong xi fa cai" and in the southern Guangzhou-Hong Kong area as "Gung hei fat choi", literally meaning "Congratulations and may you become wealthy (in the New Year)".

Posted By: Bill H Sat, Jun 16, 2018 Actually, I have friends and friendly former in-laws in and around China who are facile in both dialects, but I've got to be circumspect using either expression around friends and family in the USA for fear they'll think I'm calling them "fat". Don't want to get slapped around. :(
