Hello Everyone
A seller has this on offer for 900+ and I really need to tell him that this is a fake Ming that's worth between 20 to 30 dollars. I am right aren't I.?? I have one very similar and it was done about 3 weeks ago. Very cheap and makes a poor man's stairwell look so much better. What does the script say although even that looks very odd to me?. Thanks for any info folks. Best wishes David

reverse psychology?

actually I think you are being too harsh. this wasn't painted yesterday but it's not likely to be Ming either. There was an artist who used the 五云山人 nickname during the 19th century, but this isn't by him either. the first four characters are the title of the scene: isolated temple and a distant sail.

try posting the one you bought and this one side by side and maybe we can see some differences.

Very similar but not the same and with different markings although similar. I really refer to the characteristics in general. Temple, boat, forest, black shading brushwork. Mine definitely cost 30$ and mine is definitely new. Brand new and aged to perfection! Although the sum being asked is eye watering it obviously has more merit than I thought. Lucky for me you are all here. Thanks for the help

yes, this isn't a $900 painting but a fraction of that
