Not for tea, but for wine.

Photography is so vague, one can't begin to read the inscription, which also appears to be in archaic script.

This is a modern wine ewer, with the figure likely a representation of China’s famous drunken poet Li Bai of the Tang Dynasty. He and another drunken contemporary, Du Fu, were the Shakespeares of China.

The ewer is likely a product of the Shiwan kilns in Guangdong province, south China, from the look of the glaze.
