Subject:Help with 2 vases
Posted By: Rod Thompson Wed, Jun 20, 2018 IP: 110.44.120.210

I recently acquired these two vases and need help with translation.

I recently acquired these from a lady that had been collecting antiques in the Benton county Oregon area for over 50 years. She recently received these from one of her friends that got them from a lady that had recently passed away that was a group friend. The story goes that while in China, in the 1930s, she acquired these along with a 18th century Mandarin Theater robe. Before she passed, she told her friend that they were important vases.

My translation App translated mixed sentences that didn't make sense. I am hoping for some accurate information.

Thank you,

Rod Thompson

Updated Information

The upper Translation matches Gwoyeu Romatzyh. In Japanese it translates, "Fly Away". According to Google translate from Japanese to English. I am still working on the translation in GR as it is very early for the correct translation as it is difficult! The Lower translation is Mandarin in in which says, "Made and Supervised for governor of the Sea".
