I HAVE OWNED THIS FOR MANY YEARS AND ALWAYS WANTED TO KNOW IF THIS WAS A LAOS ART PIECE AND ANYTHING ABOUT THE ARTIST SIGNATURE LAOS ,VIETNAM ,THAI,ALSO AN IDEA OF AGE ,MY FEELING ARE LAOS PAINTER 1940'S .ANY INFORMATION WOULD BE WELCOME,THANK YOU..

Looks like a marketplace. Vientiane had a large morning market, where throngs of shoppers, would gather to purchase fresh food and other provisions for the day, including marijuana, which staple remained legal at the time...or so I've heard!

All population centers of any size had similar markets, especially other Mekong river towns such as Thadeua, Pakse, Savannakhet and the former Royal Capital of Luang Prabang. But if I had to guess, I'd say this probably is the Vientiane market.
