Could this be Korean?

1. A pair of ducks is a very common wedding present in Korea.

2. The calligraphy is quite crude, possibly the hand of someone more used to writing in another form - eg. Hangul.

3, The first character 白 Bai, is a Korean family name.

Grateful Mike
I think by all the mixed signals, wood ducks w/ clawed feet-Japanese rather than mandarin, the 2 positioned side by side rather than separate to face one-another, that this one was possibly inspired by the wedding duck tradition

Best,
Kevin
