Subject:Pair of blue vases - how can these be identified?
Posted By: Jack Mon, Nov 26, 2018 IP: 2.221.230.108

Hallo all.
I purchased this pair of small vases (8.5 cms tall) for next to nothing as I was curious how one identifies such things so that they can be aged.
They appear hand decorated to me and there is clearly crazing throughout (I've darkened one image to make this clearer), so perhaps they have a little age.
On the base there are simply two blue dots, though on one vase these appear as a single dot as they are close together.
Can anybody please help identify whether they are from China or Japan and whether the base marks have any kind of meaning?
Thank you for your help.
Jack.

Did you ever find out anything about these vases? I also have a piece of pottery with two blue dots and I can't find out anything about it.
