Greetings, request your help on determining the calligraphy on the side of a vase and the faint red mark on its base. Thank you so much

The vase appears to be Chinese and probably early to mid-20th century. The two cursive gilt characters on the side read from the right as 和平 (heping), "Peace". It's difficult to say what's inside the triangular red mark on the base. Perhaps a closer and better defined photo would help readability.

Calligraphy on the side,
平和　-　Peace
Unfortunately, the bottom mark is too smudged to read.
Coluld be a product of the 1950-70es.
