Subject:Brass Sculpture/Object: What is it? Any Ideas?

Any info or ideas about this object found in my parent's estate would be appreciated. Don't know where it's from or what the animal is. The iron/metal section coming out of the mouth is actually quite sharp almost like a blade. I did wonder if, possibly, a bell or an incense burner or something was meant to dangle from the ring...
