Subject:Help with simple japanese character
Posted By: Eric J. Wed, Dec 05, 2018 IP: 200.189.118.7 I found this calligraphy in my mother's house, perhaps its very simple i'm having difficulties to understand its meaninig. Any help will be apreciated!

Posted By: Bill H Wed, Dec 05, 2018 The character is 光, with an essential meaning of "Light" in Japanese and Chinese. Its transliteration in Japanese kanji is "ko" or in classical Japanese "hikaru" and "hikari". It figures into a number of Buddhist terms. I'm sure forum expert contributors to Japanese topics can elucidate further.
