The character is 光, with an essential meaning of "Light" in Japanese and Chinese. Its transliteration in Japanese kanji is "ko" or in classical Japanese "hikaru" and "hikari". It figures into a number of Buddhist terms. I'm sure forum expert contributors to Japanese topics can elucidate further.

Best regards,

Bill H.

光 - Hikari (Japanese) - Guang (Chinese) = Light, Ray, Brilliant, Shine

With regards,

The character is 光, meaning light (as in sunlight) ; glory or honour ; and several other meanings or usages that are unlikely to have any relevance here.
