The picture that came through this time looks pretty much like a late 19th century brise fan that I believe probably is in the Chinese Canton or Southern style of carving. Here are some images of one I have that's a blade length of about nine inches from top to bottom.

Also late 19th C. Canton style I believe. Here's its 1st cousin featuring carved mother of pearl instead of ivory.

Thank you Bill, and another nice piece you have. I think there were a lot of beautiful fans in use during the old days as China can be very hot and humid in the summer.
