Subject:Japanese print, possibly Kunisada

Hi, I'd be very grateful if anyone could identify the artist and translate the inscription on this print. Thanks.

Yes, it is by Kunisada (signing as Toyokuni III) and printed in 1851. The Google translator translates the title 八百屋お七 as Greengrocer's Shichibu. Perhaps, I. Nagy can provide better information.

See link below. The only similar prints I found are in Japan.

Cheers,
Stan

Title;
八百屋お七 - Yaoya Oshichi (Greengrocer Oshichi)
Name cartouche,
豊國画 - Toyokuni-ga - Picture of Tokyokuni III a.k.a Kunisada
Other marks,
中米 - Nakayone - Name of Publisher
シタ賣 - Shitauri - Sold under the counter
(From March 1850, because of the ban on small prints of actors, they could not have been displayed open for sales, but were sold under the counter of bookshops. The stamp "Shitauri" or sold under (the counter) was affixed to draw attention)

With regards,
I.Nagy
