Hello all I've opened a new thread because the old one got burried under the messages in the meantime. Anyway I've tinkered a bit with saturations etc to get a clearer image of the seal which seemed to help alot.
The signature and seal was translated by I.Nagi as followed at the time (Thank you again for your hard work)
"Signature,
法橋眼蝶齋 - Hokkyō Genchōsai
Hokkyō (法橋 Bridge of the Law) originally a Buddhist monastic rank, but from the Edo period it was given to artists, too.
The seal is not clear enough to read. The last two
characters are .....之印 Seal of .... "
