Inscription,
嬰戲圖 - Baby play picture
千山 - Qianshan (Signature on the right bottom)
Paintings display children`s play called "Baby play pictures" have become a common decorative pattern on porcelains, jade carvings, embroideries, eggshells etc. since Tang Dynasty times. It was very popular during the Qing Dynasty.

With rgards,

Thanks you so much for the response ! So this is a replica of an egg from the Qing dynasty ? There is no way an egg survived so many years since then...are there any eggs from that period existing ??
Thanks !

It is not a replica of any picture, but the style itself. These eggshell paintings are made even in these
days in China.
The lacquered egg-holder doesn`t look brand new.
Could be a half-a-century old.
With regards,
I.Nagy
