Hexagonal Chinese Lacquer Tiffin Box, almost identical to the one which Windsor House Antiques had. I did contact them when I found their example, but the guy seemed hostile, vague about their ones selling price and didn’t give any additional information on the box, claimed he had a whole storage of them (did he mean near exact examples like mine, or just generic typical tiffin boxes and wedding boxes, who knows...), however I’ve never seen any others.
I think it’s bamboo, and going by Windsor House Antiques, it’s 1840-1850, which I presume that’s correct, but I admit I’m not an experienced collector.
Can anyone else confirm this or correct anything please? Also, if I decide to sell it, what value would you suggest?
