Hi, can somebody please translate the inscription inside the cup and the mark on the saucer that I recently acquired? Much appreciated. Tom

Thank you I.Nagy, your translats are most welcome. Since the inscription says "resident of shiva in Edo" would you say it was likely that this was made prior to 1868 when it became known as Tokyo? Thanks again,
Tom

Also, I'm sorry but I couldn't help but notice that all 6 of the characters on the saucer weren't translated? I'm not sure if that's just my interpretation, but I would be most fateful if you could confirm it.
Thanks, Tom

Sorry something went wrong with the saucer,
金文齋 - Kinbunsai
月勝寫 - Gesshō-sha

Painted by Kinbunsai Gesshō

Re. your question on Edo.
Tōto (東都) Eastern Capital was the informal name for Edo around the Meiji restauration.

With regards,
I.Nagy
