Subject:Identify Chinese Mark
Posted By: Louise Fri, Jun 07, 2019 IP: 82.47.126.185

Please help... I've been trying to identify this mark for ages with no luck! Its on a lidded jar/vase I bought, described as 'Meiji Satsuma Vase'.

It is indeed a Satsuma vase, the mark reads Genzan 玄山.

I found a few more Satsuma items with this mark, dated Taisho period (1912-1925). But no information about Genzan.

Regards,
Martin.

玄山 Genzan. As the seller indicated, this is Japanese satsuma, not Chinese.

Thank you both! Sorry I meant 'Japanese Mark' as opposed to 'Chinese' - this was a great help :)
