Posted By: richard Sat, Jul 06, 2019 IP: 2a00:23c2:fc00:8901:

Could some one please tell me anything about these 2 prints? One is called "The Cherry tree", the other print "Misty day in Mikko".
Are they originals, copies and how can i tell?
Maybe some one can translate letters to the left of these prints ?

Thank you.

Rich

No.1,
昭和拾二年作 - Made in the 12th Year of Shōwa
(1937)
日光霧之日 - Nikkō kiri no hi - Misty Day in Nikkō
No.2,
昭和拾年作 - Made in the 10th Year of Shōwa (1935)
櫻八題 - Sakura Hachidai - Eight Scenes of Cherry Blossom
川越之櫻 - Kawagoe no Sakura - The Cherry Tree at Kawagoe

The English innscriptions and the signatures on the fringes should be authographic (directly written) by the artist. For self-conviction please take them out from the frames and use a loupe.

With regards,
I.Nagy
