What does this Chinese writing mark on the bottom of a porcelaine vase mean?

I believe it's Japanese meaning Toto 陶 都 = ceramic city or pottery capital.
I've we had a picture of the vase, we could be sure it is Japanese or Chinese.
Regards,
Martin.

I will try to post the photograph of the vase. I did try yesterday but it wouldn't post because it was too big, I need to make the photograph smaller.

Thanks for posting the picture.
In my opinion the vase is Japanese, 1970's - 1980's.

Thanks. I have learned something. I just thought it was pretty and probably not at all valuable, but I thought it was Chinese and it is interesting that it is Japanese and somebody actually knew exactly where it was made and when.

Something Chinese from that era would reflect the People's Republic of China? Very different from the Imperial dynasties? Very interesting forum, thanks.
