Needing Signature Translation on a Large 19th Century Japanese Satsuma Butterfly Handled Pottery Vase Measuring 22.5 Inches High. Any other Info. would also be Highly Appreciated! Thank You! Gary K

Hi Gary,

Top character reads: Hidari 左 = left.
The other 3 translate as just a number: 52 五十二 Go-ju-ni.
No idea what the 52 means.
So the vase is the left one of a pair. It is so called Kyo-Satsuma, Satsuma ware made in or around Kyoto.
