Subject:Miniature Cloisonne Teapot - Help With Makers Mark
Posted By: Sam R Wed, Nov 13, 2019 IP: 24.236.80.43

This cloisonné teapot has a main color of forest green with a bird done in black and white and a flower pattern throughout. The handle is wrapped in green leather. The inside is glazed the same brown color as the bottom. 3"H by 3"W
Can someone please tell me what the makers mark means and the age of the teapot.

Thank you

The same mark (古藝齋藏) was already subject for discussion in 2010.

Perhaps the experts on Chinese cloisonné could tell more.

This mark, which reads "Gu yi zhai cang - 古藝齋藏 - Collection of the Ancient Antiques Studio" has previously come up before in the forum on what appeared to me to be a late 20th century cloisonné box. See link for the earlier discussion thread, which has a breakdown on individual character meanings. Your teapot may look old because of greater age, or because a previous owner actually used it to heat water for tea on a burner.

Here's another website with interesting info on this cloisonné maker.
