Subject:Unusual decoration, with "Imari" mark in Kanji - any insights?

I've recently bought this nice jardiniere in a style I've not seen before. The all-over floral decoration caught my eye (see the detail of the butterfly). I've worked out that the mark on the bottom says "Imari" in Kanji. I'm trying to research this more but can't find out anything online about such marks or vessels decorated similarly to this. Can anyone help?
