Subject:Jade dragon boat
Posted By: Sophie Thu, Nov 28, 2019 IP: 24.108.83.200

I also have a similar question regarding my piece.
Is it real stone? If so, what kind? It feels cold to the touch. It has brown and white inclusions. Any ideas what the characters on the sail mean? It’s 18” long x 16” tall x 3” wide.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance, Sophie

Your dragon boat is serpentine and dates to the later 20th century.

You have to get better photos.
PS. This type of boat was mass produced, and the material was Serpentine, not Jade. Perhaps we can see more with better pictures.

Thank you for your reply Ernest. I figured it wasn’t jade, that is what I was told.
I’ll try again with the photos. My original ones were too large, so that may be why the detail couldn’t be seen.
How do you make them smaller for this forum?
Sincerely Sophie
