Subject:Chinese silk paintings

I have silk paintings that have been in our family since the 1930's that were given to my grandmother from Madame Chiang. I don't know anything more about them but she had them framed and sealed on the back in Monterey before giving them to my grandmother and therefore I can't see any actual markings of who painted them or anything. I'd like to get them appraised for insurance reasons and am hoping I could get some advice as to where to start on this matter.
