This jardiniere which height is: 24cm and diameter of mouth is: 31cm. I think this jardiniere dates to probably 1970 to 1980 based on the workmanship and a few collectors told me they are probably from 1970's.. The jardiniere is molded and not wheel thrown as the wall is quite thin. The paste is white and smooth to the touch.

The interior and base is applied with the green glaze and the outer surface is pure white. The interior and base has dark patches probably made on purpose or due to passage of time.The drawing depicted a garden setting probably a rich man�s garden outing with many servants around. The garden is set near to a pond and there are bridges,trees,flowers,pavilions and also houses. The decoration is very well and finely done and it is black against the white background. The decoration is not painted but are incised/carved onto the surface. The incision/carving is very finely executed and the features of the people and other fine details can be clearly seen.The decoration alone,I think will take quite sometime to execute if the potters first draw and incised later. Even if it is incised without prior drawing,it still take quite some time to carve.

At the bottom,it is carved with Qianlong and on the side there is a four character denoting High Quality Item. This looks like sand blasting is used to carved the words.

I have seen another two items with the same incised/carved decoration but they are not that fine compared to this item. I look at the new porcelain market but is unable to find another example.I hope other members might have seen this type of decoration and know probably the time when it is made.

I have not seen this type of incised jardiniere before. What is the provenance of this piece?

There is no provenance to this as I purchased it when I was in China two years ago.I purchased it as I find that the decoration by incised/carved is beautiful.The workmanship alone will takes quite a long time to accomplish as the lines are quite fine.
I have been unable to find more information about it.

This is a modern piece, and not inceised but rather printed design. I have seen an inceised style done on a red or croal ground and gold rubbed into the relief areas. This is also a modern technique. Pretty, but not Imperial age.

You mentioned printing, is it something like transfer printing? If it is, then it is not printing.If one runs the palm over it,one can feel the design and the fingernail can catch the lines.If look through the loop, one can see that the lines are incised and one can see the groove.
I know this is modern item but the workmanship is superb.

Regarding this jardiniere,my final conclusion,it should be from 1980's or 1990's.
