Subject:Opinion in bronze teacup. Qing? inscribed
Posted By: MB Tue, Sep 01, 2020 IP: 2804:14c:36:8d46:c5c

Hello everybody,

I still working on a small lot of objects made of iron, bronze, copper, etc.
Since i'm a student, im still learning about this kind of pieces, any help will be so much appreciated.

I got this small bronze? teacup with this inscriptions that i tried to translate:

大清國廣東官局造

咸豐三年

If im right it should be a Qing dynasty, Xianfeng emperror period, object made in Guandong.

Any guess if this object is of the period or a copy?

Thanks in advance.

MB

大清國 - Great Qing Empire
廣東官局造 - Made by Gunadong (Canton) Government Office - 官局 could be interpreted as a government mint office branch, responsible for producing and circulating coins.
咸豐三年 - 3rd Year of Xianfeng (1853)

I think needless to say that your cup is an imitation.

With regards,
I.Nagy

Corrigendum,
Guandong is correct.
