Subject:artist's signature
Posted By: Karen Sun, Jan 24, 2021 IP: 66.189.50.36

Hello, My uncle brought this painting back from overseas during World War II.
I'm trying to identify the artist.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

Signature reads;
玉泉 (Jade spring) - Pseudonym
Yuquan - Chinese
Gyokusen - Japamese
Okcheon - Korean
Even the nationality of the artist cannot be established from this pseudonym. Maybe the whole picture would reveal more about the artist.

With regards,
I.Nagy

Thank you for replying

I have uploaded a photo of the painting. It is painted on silk I believe. Definitely cloth of some sort. Very thin. I think it is oil, but I’m not an expert!

Again thanks for your help.

Thank for the picture, with Mt. Fuji (?) with Japanese style house and bridge. It is an oil painting on canvas.
The Japanese painter from the pseudonym 玉泉 Gyokusen cannot be identified.

With regards,
I.Nagy
