Subject:Help With The Qianlong Styled Marked Vase
Posted By: Denizalp Sun, Jan 24, 2021 IP: 176.40.228.224

Hello, my family have this old vase for some time now and I am very interested with the art of porcelain and ceramics. So, I started searching for it's mark and found out that it look very familiar to a Qianlong mark but it's general decoration style is definetely European. I could not find any kind of useful information on how to date these kind of vase or how to understand it's art or even it's value. I was hoping that you could help me. Thanks in advance.

Your jar has the archaic seal form of the Jiaqing reign period. According to the Goteburg expert, it was probably made in the 1960-1970 decade. It demonstrates arms usually granted to a person in the priestly hierarchy but does not conform to any known specific persons arms. Therefore, in my opinion a piece made for decorative purposes in an older style.
