Despite the mark - SHUNZHI ca 1644 - this is a mid to late 20th century copy, unfortunately.

The brass handle and cladding on rims is similar to that seen on Chinese porcelain that was decorated in Thailand around the 3rd quarter of the 20th century at workshops in the Bangkok area. However, the Shunzhi mark is similar to what also is found on some products of the same period from painting factories in Macao or Hong Kong. See the link for another example with similar mark. It's quite possible that the Bangkok shops purchased semi-finished stock from Macao or Hong Kong.

Thanks, Bill. Would you know how I can purchase a similar tiffin carrier with brass handle etc as in above?

If you use Google to search "Peranakan blue white tiffin boxes images" the results will include a handful of tiffins like the one you're seeking. The results mostly come from Pinterest websites, which require signing up to view, but some appear to be commercial sources of these products. Since I've never bought one nor have been shopping in Asia in recent years, I have no particular dealers to recommend.

Good luck,

I just bought one of these blue and white tiffin boxes with the exact same carrying handle in brass and the brass trim around each porcelain part, and the same marking on the bottom of each piece in Malacca Malaysia, in an antique store, which I am assuming from the price is a mid 20h century copy. I am still interested in an approximate value, if anyone knows? Thanks, Missy
