Subject:Metal & Clay Children
Posted By: Jim Mon, May 14, 2012 IP: 66.140.57.21

I have had the clay figures for over 30 years and the metal figure over 20. There is a great similarity between the features of the metal girl and the clay girl, The hollow metal figure is 11 tall and signed. The clay figures, also hollow, are 8 tall and marked on the base TOYO. The eyes are open space so that they appear quite black in any light, There is much Toyo on the net, but nothing having to do with figures (that I can find). Does anyone recognise these children, and what is Toyo? Any help or comments much appreciated, Jim

Hi Dave, not much additional, found three more dolls six months ago, two appear to be the same size, one smaller. Found three labels on various items (not dolls), two of which are Kutani related. The name Ayame occurs on one, no help. Kanji on the labels hasn't been translated. Including yours I know of ten clay dolls. Check the labels, let me know if you have any suggestions. Thanks for posting, regards, Jim
