Any ideas on who made this painting? It measures 36" x 24" inches.

I believe the signature 'Akusan' at bottom right is one possible Japanese transcription of the top two characters in the stack on the lower left side of the picture. This assumption presumes the characters to be ŽéŽR (Japanese auto-select encoding). If correct, then it could be a surname, but I'd prefer to leave that call and the rest of the translation to a Japanese linguist.
