Subject:Help Identifying Marks on Panel Art Work

I picked this up for a few dollars at a garage sale because I thought it was neat. Can anyone help me translate this, artist? The art work itself is in good condition however the panel has some water damage around the edges.

The right hand side text says:
Singing birds and nice flowers

Left side: Gu Fen ( the name of the artist )

right, not very likely but not impossible. rather it may be just a nice phrase added to where the artist's name might ordinarily be.
