Subject:Korean or Chinese Paintings
Posted By: Thu, Jul 26, 2012 IP: 208.72.223.102

I've found some paintings in my mom's garage and would like to get more information including monetary values of them. Apparently she took them with her when she moved to USA from Korea. If any pictures for any certain area is needed, I'll take pictures and post them up later. Thanks in advance!

yes, a few more detailed shots would be good: one of the inscription certainly, and of the foliage and rocks perhaps?

I think this is Korean, as the brushwork does not look typically Chinese to me. The inscription is a simple poem about the scene: an ancient temple isolated among innumerable cloud covered peaks and waterfalls. dated to a summer's day in the cyclical year corresponding to 1978, painted by an artist surnamed Li, with a nickname that he's signed (and which appears in the second seal below the inscription as well) corresponding to the Chinese characters "jing shan", or "radiant mountain". not sure what the correct Korean pronounciation is.
