Subject:Asian man with child figure

Hi, Can anyone comment on this figure? The mark is unusual; possibly a very contemporary piece? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

This looks to be one of the three Daoist 'Star Gods', probably Luxing, the deity governing career emoluments needed by the scholar-bureaucrat to provide for a happy family life, such as choice assignments, regular promotions and salary increases. From characteristics of its potting and painting, I would speculate that this figurine might have been made in Vietnam. The mark is unclear to me.
