The artist's name is He Shao Wen.

I have owned one of these goldfish images before... They have the "silk" borders.... Produced for tourists 1900-1930
The other image looks more promising but I would definately do my research first!!

He Shaowen is not a well-known artist and the painting quality is low. For this reason I'd be skeptical of anything you hear from your seller.

thankyou all for the valuable information.
I really like Chinese painting,but realise I have a long way to go with equating value for money...I hope I don't make too many costly mistakes..thanks again for all that offered advice.
