Compare a similar one at Sotheby's New York upcoming auction of Fine Chinese Ceramics And Works Of Art on 18 March 2014 lot 161. Personal collection. Enjoy!

Well, if you have got these and you can document that they were bought before 1990, there is a change that one the major auction houses like Christie's would be interested.

It looks like a very good scabbard slĂde that has the potential to sell for a lot of money.

Let me tell you a story. During the course of a few years back, I did show my whole album of these jade photos to Christie's London in person as I happened to be passing by. A representative sat down with me , flipped through the photos and acknowledged that they look quite good. However, he said that the particular office in London do not really deal in archaic jade unless they are big ticket items. Maybe, Hongkong he said. Before this incident, if I remembered correctly, I have visited the Sotheby's office in Singapore and enquired. As no experts are stationed in Singapore, the staff said they would send the album to their HK office. No communication were forthcoming after about 2 months I believe, I enquired. The staff said they would follow up on this and presto, one week later the album was back in Singapore. When I collected it back, the staff said HK said the items were not suitable for auction, so of course, no estimate. I am now intrigue that Sotheby's do auction more or less such items although in New York. Thanks, Corey.

As an owner of museum authenticated western han jade I can assure you that this is fake...The jade doesnt have the yellow tone that comes from age and the Qi-sin cinnabar inclusion looks totally artificial...A cut above most fakes, but still fake

Like I have said much earlier in my other posting, I bought these in good faith out of interest and am no expert. If any knowledgeable person say this is not genuine archaic jade, then, let it be so. My apologies.
