Posted By: Ioan Wed, Mar 19, 2014 IP: 79.118.171.49

Hello,

I hope someone could tell me something about this painting. It is not signed but has a read seal. Who could be the author ? The mounting is new but I believe the painting itself is from Edo period, am I right ?

Thank you !!!

I tend to read the seal as 南仙 (Nansen) but I'm not sure at all if this is correct.

Just wanted to add that the subject is probably a famous scene depicting the Chinese poet Li Bai gazing at the waterfall. The scroll however, is indeed pure Japanese.
