Your picture appears to me to have been machine-embroidered on a Jacquard loom, a common method of producing souvenir embroideries in Japan and elsewhere during the 20th century. Yours might have been made in the decades immediately preceding or following World War II.
The two characters 方信 may or may not be a name. I suspect they probably are a title that would read "Houshin" in Japanese and be translatable as "Upright and truthful" in the Buddhist context.
